This is a case study on how I designed an app that will help people to find recipes available at their home with restrictions on Calories

Assumptions

• Platform - I choose to design this as a mobile app because to search and add ingredients at home and to read the recipes and preparation methods while cooking, mobile app comes handy.
• Other food recipes - Having an option to explore all other food options (no calorie restrictions) can be helpful for users during special occasions or friends/relatives visiting the home.
• Login and User details as optional - Adding more restrictions to the app will make the app more complicated and the main objective of the app gets deviated. Users can explore the app without entering any details and if they want to have more personalized experience, they can login to the application.

Using the above flow, I sketched out my first ideas of the main screens and how they would be connected. After a couple of iterations, I ended up with the following version and made some rough UI sketches.
